We started this R&D with a conventional web camera to track users' motion and gestures.
After series of tests, however, we found some limitations of web camera and modified it with IR LEDs.

We ruined dozens of perfectly good web cameras before finding the right one.
Then we attached it to a powerful camera board.

For IR LED, we used short LEDs that emit strong lights.
The best place for IR LED was either upper or lower position in the entire structure.

IR emitting module on the floor faces the screen.
Bottom and back plates of it are designed in a way that infra red rights cannot penetrate.
The emitting angle of IR module should be set case by case.

Positions of both hands captured by the cam are used to generate coordinates in Flash replacing mouse pointer.

Based on the coordinates, various motion events were created such as left, right, up and down tracking, clockwise & counter clockwise rotation, touch motion, magnify and minimize.
